Woman Arrested For Not Watering Her Lawn

The poor woman was arrested after not showing ID in her own home after police officers stopped by to question her about her failure to water her lawn. Something she claims she doesn’t have enough money to do.

There are so many things wrong with that I don’t even know where to begin.

Update: Talking about getting arrested for stupid things, this poor sap was arrested for going up to two different women and telling them that they were “extremely beautiful” and should consider modeling.

Now regardless of the cheesiness of the pickup line, whether or not it was sincere or even whether or not the come on was desired by the women...is it a crime?

If he wouldn’t leave them alone, that’s harassment. But simply telling them, apparently once, that they’re beautiful? Give me a break.

But this is what our laws have come to in this country. There are so many rules and so many regulations based on vaguely written laws that most of us probably break some minor or obscure law every single day. The only thing keeping most of us from being stopped, ticketed (and maybe even searched and detained) at any given moment is a law enforcement’s decision as to whether or not he/she will enforce that particular law on that particular day.

Much as the Legislative adding new layers of law, one atop the other, without actually enforcing that which already exists. People voice a complaint that a law is ineffective. Instead of eliminating the law/s that are not working, another is imposed over top.

This is a major failing of representative government. Instead of fixing what does not work, another layer is spackled over top. And elected officials are graded on how many new laws they propose/pass.
